Lucy was born in Wager Bay in 1953. "When I was 16 years old, I started to carve because my parents were carvers. At first, I carved soapstone and whale bones. In the 1980's, I started making jewellery, " Lucy explains.

Dora was born in 1943 in Inukjuak, in northern Quebec. She learned how to sew from her mother, and she learned beading on her own.

June was born near Holman Island and is a respected elder in her community. She makes parkas and kamiks with inlaid geometric designs in caribou fur and siksik (ground squirrel). Sometimes, the kamiks have beautiful embroidery. She uses sunbleached sealskin soles for her kamiks, crimped with her teeth to make the perfect fit.

Suzanne was born on Bylot Island across from the community of Pond Inlet on northern Baffin Island. She grew up in Iqaluit and was educated in Ottawa, Ontario. She took up Jewellery making in 1997 and graduated in the Jewellery/Metalwork program at Nunavut Arctic College in Iqaluit, Nunavut in the spring of 2000.

Agent/represented by: Uqqurmiut Centre, Pangnirtung Jolly was born on Broughton Island. He now lives in Pangnirtung with his wife and four children.

Jolly has been printmaking for over ten years. He studied at the local learning centre of Nunavut Arctic College (woodcuts) and then went to Iqaluit with his family for more printmaking courses. There, he studied etching, watercolour for printmaking, stencil, oil painting, silkscreen, and also a visual fine art and craft foundation course.

Daniel Alareak was born in Arviat in 1964. He has been working as an artist since he was 12 years old. Daniel learned carving from his grandparents, Michael and Eva Aliktiluk, well known artists themselves.
