June Klengenberg Community: Kugluktuk, NunavutMedia: Sewing/caribou skin and siksik (ground squirrel) Agent/represented by: Contact: local MLA in Kugluktuk June was born near Holman Island and is a respected elder in her community. She makes parkas and kamiks with inlaid geometric designs in caribou fur and siksik (ground squirrel). Sometimes, the kamiks have beautiful embroidery. Suzanne Evaloardjuk Community:Iqaluit, Nunavut Suzanne was born on Bylot Island across from the community of Pond Inlet on northern Baffin Island. She grew up in Iqaluit and was educated in Ottawa, Ontario. She took up Jewellery making in 1997 and graduated in the Jewellery/Metalwork program at Nunavut Arctic College in Iqaluit, Nunavut in the spring of 2000. Jolly Atagooyuk
Ikoo Angutikjuaq Community: Clyde RiverMedia: Stone carving Agent/represented by: Northern Store, Clyde River Ikoo was born in South Ford Fiord near Clyde River in 1942. He was raised in an outpost camp. Ikoo moved into the community at age 17 when he fell in love. He grew up with his older brother, Davidee Piungiturq, a reknowned carver of bowhead whale bones. He learned from watching his brother and other artists, and began carving when he met his wife.
